Aleksander Kłak, ACCA

Aleksander Kłak leads the investment function of the Blackswan platform, owning deal origination, underwriting and portfolio construction across the firm's private-equity, venture and real-asset mandates. An ACCA Fellow with more than thirteen years across private equity, venture capital, real estate and industrial ventures, he combines board-level leadership with hands-on operational execution and a record of value creation in politically and operationally complex environments across Europe and the United States. He has held a personal licence for military trade since 2016.

Background

Mr. Kłak began his career in Transaction Advisory at Ernst & Young in Warsaw before joining Tar Heel Capital, the entrepreneur-led mid-cap private equity fund investing across Central and Eastern Europe, where over five years he closed seven transactions and three exits across the industrial, logistics and software sectors. He was hands-on in the business development and initial public offering of LiveChat Software — a PLN 476 million market capitalisation at listing, with an EBITDA margin of approximately seventy per cent — managed thirteen due-diligence processes, sat on supervisory boards of portfolio companies, and participated in the fundraising and set-up of the fund's EUR 50 million second vehicle.

From 2016 to 2023 he served with Thumos Group, the family-owned investment holding created from the reorganisation of the formerly listed Paged Group, with consolidated sales of approximately EUR 300 million and 2,500 employees across Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom and Estonia — first as Head of M&A and, from 2018, as Investment & Business Development Director and executive board member responsible for group restructuring. In that capacity he reduced holding-company costs by seventy per cent within two years, cut net leverage on PLN 500 million of debt from 22x to 3x EBITDA in under three years, executed the minority buyout and add-on M&A for Europa Systems in intralogistics and automation, and led the transformation of Paged Plywood Group (EUR 250 million revenue), delivering a fivefold EBITDA increase and approximately PLN 300 million of enterprise-value creation within six months. He conceived and led Project Woodstock — the first EU anti-dumping case in the birch-plywood sector initiated by a Polish-led consortium, representing roughly sixty per cent of European production before the European Commission — which resulted in definitive duties on Russian imports and is regarded as one of the most consequential trade-defence actions in the European wood industry in two decades. He also managed the group's real-estate SPVs of approximately EUR 25 million, completing disposals to Hillwood, White Star and Nofar.

From 2020 to 2025, Mr. Kłak was Partner and Head of the Investment Committee at RKK Family Office and its R+ co-investment syndicates — a private venture platform investing across the United States, the DACH region and the United Kingdom, with a portfolio including SpaceX, KarmaCheck and Wingtra. He professionalised the platform's investment strategy and governance, oversaw participation in financing rounds of USD 10-250 million, structured syndicates for Embotech alongside BMW, Emerald and Yttrium and for Skydio alongside Linse Capital, Andreessen Horowitz and Accel, and was directly involved in the operational scale-up of portfolio companies in Poland, with the platform delivering three realised exits at a combined high double-digit IRR.

Since 2025 he has advised private investors and family offices across the DACH region, the United States and the European Union on strategy, M&A, governance and direct investments, and is co-founder and investor in Atlas Ward Polskie Schrony — the Polish-Finnish joint venture between Atlas Ward Group and Temet Group positioned as Poland's leading integrator of civil-defence and dual-use protective infrastructure. He is a co-founder and Presidium member of the Polish Dual-Use Chamber of Commerce, and an active angel investor in dual-use, fintech and AI ventures including Skydio, Embotech, Hypersonix Launch Systems, FIDO Tech AI, Uncapped and Respo.Vision.
