Archduke Alexander de Habsbourg-Lorraine

Descended from the House of Habsburg-Lorraine and from the Grand Ducal family of Luxembourg, Mr. de Habsbourg-Lorraine is the son of Archduke Carl Christian of Austria and of Princess Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg, sister of Grand Duke Henri. Through his paternal line he is a great-grandson of Blessed Karl von Habsburg, the last Emperor of Austria-Hungary, beatified by Pope Saint John Paul II in 2004 — the pope whose own baptismal name, Karol, his parents had chosen in the Emperor's honour — and through his maternal line a great-grandson of Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg. He was commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst into the Irish Guards, and holds an Executive Master's from the Graduate Institute in Geneva. He works in English, French, German and Arabic.

His decade in business and diplomacy spans Kuwait's Vision 2035 programme, the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in Geneva, and wealth management practices in Geneva and Luxembourg — an arc that combines statecraft with the discretion and long horizons of private capital.

He is the Founder and Principal of Multiplus Legacy, established in Abu Dhabi (ADGM) and building on the legacy of the firm his father founded in Geneva in 1990. Through that platform, and now as Chairman of Blackswan, he connects the UAE and the wider GCC with Europe at the highest level: family offices, economic delegations, leading technologies and family-to-family enterprise.
