Dr. Andrzej W. Kawecki

Dr. Kawecki began his international career as a Senior Fulbright Scholar affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1982–1984, followed by an Associate position at an esteemed local law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath in Philadelphia (1985–1991), where he focused his practice on investment-funds — including development of ground-breaking solutions of U.S. Banks compliance with Glass-Steagall Act — and on cross-border corporate transactions. Returning to Poland in 1991, he advised the Legislative Council on the country's first securities law and went on to co-author the foundational legislation governing privatisation of the national economy (1991–1992), Law on Bonds and the original blueprint of Polish investment-fund law (1996).

At SK&S he established and led the firm's capital markets and banking practice, supervising and assisting on landmark mergers, acquisitions and pioneer greenfield investments in Poland by global corporations during the seminal privatization effort in 1990s, including Cadbury Schweppes, International Paper, Owens-Illinois, Microsoft, Goodyear, Isuzu and Gillette. He advised for years major global investment banks, including Merrill Lynch, Rothschild & Co and Goldman Sachs on Polish regulatory issues under Banking and Securities laws. He continues to advise long-standing clients including Intel (since 1992), Caterpillar, Bloomberg and Euroclear, and heads the firm's largest in Poland employee shareholder incentive programmes practice. From 1996 to 2017 he served as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of RBS Bank (Polska) S.A. (formerly ABN AMRO), and from 1997 to 2000 he sat on the Supervisory Board of CeTO, Poland's first OTC securities market. He served as Honorary Consul-General of Singapore in Poland from 2019 to 2023.
