Daniel Korski CBE is a British-Danish entrepreneur, investor, former diplomat and policy expert whose career spans government service, multilateral diplomacy, the founding and sale of several technology businesses, and active investing across technology and real estate. He brings to Blackswan a distinctive combination of statecraft and commercial execution, anchored by a deep network across British and European political, institutional and capital-markets circles.
Background
Born in Denmark in 1977 to a family of Polish origin, Mr. Korski emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1997. He is an alumnus of the London School of Economics and the University of Cambridge, and has worked across Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the United States, the Middle East and Western Europe. He began his career in post-conflict reconstruction, working in Bosnia for the then-UN envoy Lord Paddy Ashdown, before returning to the United Kingdom to work in Parliament and subsequently joining what is now the Foreign Office, with postings in Afghanistan, the United States and Iraq. He later joined the team of the then-International Development Secretary, Andrew Mitchell MP.
On leaving government, he helped establish the European Council on Foreign Relations, where he was recognised as an expert on the Balkans and on defence and foreign policy. From there he served as strategic adviser to the Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. After several years in Brussels he returned to the United Kingdom, serving as adviser and then Deputy Head of the Number 10 Policy Unit under Prime Minister David Cameron from 2013 to 2016.
Mr. Korski subsequently founded PUBLIC, a business focused on the digitisation of government services, and built two further companies — Eva Healthcare Technologies and Freeup — each of which he later sold to different buyers. He has since invested across technology start-ups and real estate. He is a partner in Grad Capital, focused on high-end residential property; co-founder of the digital agency Knox Digital; a board member of Kitsoft, a leading Ukrainian software company; and a director of Rotowash UK. He also created the Greenland Index, the leading financial-information portal for Greenland.
Alongside his private work, Mr. Korski has served on a range of government panels, from the United Kingdom's Digital Economy Council and the HealthTech Advisory Panel to the Freeport Advisory Panel established by then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. He ran Tom Tugendhat MP's Conservative Party leadership campaign and, in 2024, sought the Conservative Party nomination for Mayor of London, proposing innovative funding solutions for public services.
Recognition
Mr. Korski's contributions to political and public service were recognised with his appointment as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2016.
