Igor Pezzilli

Mr. Pezzilli began his career in industry as a Junior Project Manager with the Bosch Rexroth Group in Modena and subsequently as Project Manager at Coesia Holding / G.D S.p.A. in Bologna, before joining Bain & Company, where he spent six years in the Private Equity Group and the Consumer and Retail practice. There he led buy-side and sell-side commercial due diligence for private equity clients across consumer, retail and technology, and advised mid- and large-cap corporates on growth strategy, route-to-market redesign and turnaround programmes, developing deep fluency in Central European and emerging-market dynamics.

He co-founded Lazada.com and served as Country CEO of its Malaysian business, building the first Lazada market outside Indonesia from zero to USD 120 million of annual revenue in under two years — a twenty-five-fold increase — and standing up every core function from commercial and marketing to operations, technology, finance and human resources. Promoted to Group Chief Commercial Officer, he led commercial strategy across all six Southeast Asian markets, built the pan-regional commercial organisation, onboarded major international and regional brand partners, and drove group gross merchandise value from under USD 500 million to more than USD 1.6 billion in under twenty-four months. He was an active member of senior management through the landmark exit to Alibaba in 2016, which valued the business in excess of USD 1 billion and made Lazada Southeast Asia's first unicorn.

From 2017 to 2025 he was Co-Founder and General Partner of MIP — Milan Investment Partners, building the management company from inception to EUR 200 million of assets under management through fundraising from private and institutional investors across Europe and the Gulf. He defined an investment thesis centred on technology-enabled consumer and marketplace businesses, oversaw the full cycle from origination through portfolio management to exit — delivering two successful portfolio exits — held six board seats, and led LP reporting, governance and investor relations across a multi-geography investor base spanning Europe and MENA.
